Oiling System
Restore your engine’s efficiency and performance during your rebuild by replacing oiling system components. You should replace these components during a rebuild, or in response to significant contamination/damage to the oiling system.
Examples of failure conditions:
- Sludge in the oil pan due to poor/no maintenance.
- Metal contamination due to bearing/valve/piston digestion.
- Rust due to coolant/moisture in the oil system for significant periods of time.
- Overheating due to a failed pump or low oil pressure.
Cleaning is often not a viable first step for the above problems. Contamination and overheating can significantly increase pump wear and leave big carbon and metal deposits stuck in components.
Engine oil clearance specs are typically in the range of a few thousandths of an inch; it doesn’t take much to cause a hotspot.
Why take chances when you have already opened up the engine? Replace your oil pump and pickup with brand-new parts.
